My children, when they were much younger, had a variety of toys. One specific toy I remember wasn’t so much for the toy itself, rather for the name/description/tag line of the toy.
“Weebles!” With the tag line of “Weebles Wobble but they don’t fall down.”

This ‘tag line’ immediately came to my mind as I was wobbling back and forth walking down the street excited about my first non-crutch walk in over a month.
Those who have ever had to walk with a boot know that there is at least a 2” length discrepancy between the foot with the boot and your regular foot. Add in a wedge inside the boot to keep your ankle at an obtuse, i.e. greater than 90-degree, angle, and you’re a ‘Wobbling Weeble’.
As we all know, runners tend to push the limits… and while I was told ‘no 5-mile walks’, I decided to go about a half a mile walk to try our my new ‘legs’. I quickly found out this ‘wobble’ action placed a lot of pressure on my left leg and knee.
Let’s just say pain relievers were needed upon my return home.
While on my walk, a nice lady about my age was passing by and, as she apparently had personal experience with a boot as well, saw my walking plight and commented that I could purchase a ‘shoe balancer’ that could offset all/most of the ‘boot/non-boot’ height discrepancy.

I thanked her for advice, and immediately upon return to my home, I accessed my partner in recovery, i.e. Amazon, and ordered.
Scheduled Arrival: Friday AM.
I can hardly wait for this to be another piece of the ‘normal’ puzzle!
