Night # 1- October 30-31, 2024

Wednesday/Thursday: October 30-31, 2024

Finally home following surgery. My head was still trying to clear itself of the propofol created ‘cobwebs’.

We own a 3-story townhome and have a guest bedroom on the first floor. (No stairs… WINNING!)

My wife helps me get set-up in the bed… including the special knee raising wedge pillow required during sleeping to cut down on the swelling. Basic things like the ability to turn off or on a light, going to the bathroom… now a significant challenge.

Damn crutches. Right leg was 100% NON-WEIGHT BEARING.

That first night was rough… not much sleep. Heck… the second night wasn’t much better. Taking pain my prescribed pain medications and following the doctor’s recommendations.

My next ortho appointment wouldn’t be for another 2 weeks. I was bored and definitely feeling sorry for myself.

Being an almost daily runner 5-7 miles per run to finding myself struggling simply going to the bathroom.

One word: Humbling.

The only thing truly positive: Each day was closer to this episode being done, But time- at least initially- was moving so very slow.

Wondering… is there any way of making time go faster? Any way at all?
